Issyk-Kul lake & Son-Kol lake

High-mountain lakes are bodies of water located at high elevations, usually in alpine or subalpine zones. They are often formed by glaciers, tectonic activity, or natural damming in mountain valleys. These lakes are known for their clear, cold waters and stunning natural surroundings, often enclosed by steep peaks and rocky landscapes. Because of their altitude, they have harsh climates, short summers, and unique ecosystems adapted to extreme conditions.

Most remarkable natural wonders

Explore the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Issyk-Kul and Song-Kol Lake, two of Kyrgyzstan’s most remarkable natural wonders. Issyk-Kul, the famed “Pearl of the Tian Shan,” impresses with its vast blue waters, mountain backdrop, and vibrant coastal life. High in the mountains, Song-Kol offers a completely different atmosphere—wide alpine pastures, traditional yurts, and an authentic glimpse into nomadic traditions. Together, these destinations create a perfect balance of relaxation, nature, and cultural immersion.
